Our second installment of our 'Day in the Life Feature'. You can read about Lukasz's day here.

Ula Gebura-Watroba - Accounts and Administration

Dropping two boys off means a busy start to the day – and PCM are a really family-friendly organisation so I start at 9:30 am once the school run is over.

Our day starts with the staff meeting when we all congregate on the sofas. I’ll update the team on any outstanding financial issues, the status of any special projects that are ongoing and any operations updates such as changes to the pension scheme or building maintenance.

I work closely with Hugh, one of our Directors, so I spend a lot of time with him in the office or on the phone as he often works remotely from his home in the Yorkshire Dales.

Zaynah and I sit together as we’re in the same department, and it’s nice to have a fellow pudding-lover sitting so close. I love to bake and often I’ll bring traditional Polish desserts into the office which we’ll share during our morning tea round.

My role covers everything from finance to HR, managing our relationship with our office management and making sure we don’t run out of supplies.

We reinvest our profits to fund research and development in new technology, and I use my experience as a project manager to help the team with the special projects. I’ll often provide user testing on our developments as I’m a non-technical person, so I like to look at projects from the point of view of our customers to make sure processes aren’t too complex and follow a logical path.

I finish at 2:30 most days so before I leave I make sure the team doesn’t need anything else from me, and then it’s off across the city to pick up my boys.
